True Story is a Black-owned history-driven clothing brand built to celebrate Black American inventors and the ideas that changed everyday life.

Each archival-inspired design pairs an inventor’s name with the documented invention or patent behind the story. Our black-and-gold visual language is intentional: bold enough to wear, detailed enough to start a conversation.

Why True Story exists

Black innovation is often used without the inventor being named. True Story puts the name, invention, and year back at the center—on garments made to be worn, shared, and remembered.

Our apparel is printed to order to reduce unnecessary inventory. Every product page includes its garment details, available colors, sizing, and historical source information.
