Lonnie Johnson: Big Ideas at Play
Engineer and inventor Lonnie Johnson turned an unexpected stream of water from a heat-pump experiment into an idea for a powerful toy water gun. He conceived the idea in 1982, received U.S. Patent No. 4,591,071 for his “squirt gun” in 1986, and kept refining prototypes until the high-powered water blaster reached stores in 1990.
This True Story Kids sweatshirt celebrates curiosity, persistence, and the kind of playful experimentation that can grow into a world-changing idea.
